The Spatial Analysis and Research Center (SpARC) Manager is an individual with excellent research analysis and communication skills, and experience working in a spatial center. That individual’s key responsibilities/functions will involve: applying spatial analysis and visualization tools and techniques appropriate to faculty and student research; providing analysis and writing in support of faculty grant applications with a spatial component; developing and implementing GIS short courses and workshops for members of the UC Merced community and its partners; building a user base through communication and outreach, including a website, seminar series and drop-in hours; and administering and maintaining the SpARC server, lab equipment and software site licenses, engaging IT staff where possible.

• Master's or Ph.D. (preferred) in a geospatial field.
• Thorough knowledge of spatial research functions.
• Thorough skills associated with spatial analysis.
• Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.
• Skills in project management.
• Research skills at a level to evaluate alternate solutions and develop recommendations.
